Installation of deironing station (first stage)


Installation for commissioning of the first stage of the deironing plant has been completed.

The first feature of this work was the Customer’s requirement for technological techniques. Namely, to exclude the use of oxidizing reagents and catalysts, which is a mandatory requirement in the preparation of artesian, certified according to international standards, mineral water.

To perform this task, degassing technology was used – the aeration column was calculated by the company’s engineers, made of polypropylene and integrated into the source water tank. The use of Pall’s rings made it possible to achieve an extremely high surface area of contact of water with purified and decontaminated air, which created the conditions for the absolute complete conversion of iron into insoluble trivalent form.

The second feature of this installation is the use of separate valves of appropriate diameter for each of the filtration modes instead of an automatic control valve mounted on the filter column. This allowed not only to provide the necessary (calculated, and therefore – the most effective) water flow rates for each of the modes, but also to reproduce the additional mode of flushing using air. Thus, water-air flushing provides 100% washing of the filter material with the reproduction of the working pressure loss regardless of the accumulated contaminants and eliminates its compaction during operation and, thus, the formation of “dead zones” that can be sources of secondary microbiological contamination.

The modernity and reliability of the water treatment process is ensured by the control cabinet based on the SIEMENS industrial controller, and the informativeness and controllability is provided by local visualization on the SIEMENS touch panel (for operators) and remote on the PC (for engineering and technical personnel).

Currently, preparation for the next stage: appropriate reconstruction of the existing equipment of the Customer and its integration into a single automation system.
