Water treatment in the chemical industry in Ukraine

Chemical industry enterprises produce a wide variety of products. Thus, the wastewater generated during the production process at each of the production facilities is individual in its composition.

Waste water characteristics:

The main pollutants are oil products, suspended solids, total and ammonium nitrogen, nitrates, nitrites, chlorides, sulfates, phosphates, cyanides, thiocyanates, cadmium, cobalt, manganese, copper, nickel, mercury, lead, chromium, zinc, hydrogen sulfide, carbon disulfide, formaldehyde , phenols, surfactants, pesticides, etc.

Applied cleaning technologies:

  • neutralization;
  • mechanical cleaning;
  • upholding;
  • coagulation, flocculation;
  • flotation;
  • biochemical purification;
  • sorption;
  • dehydration;
  • disinfection.

Purified water is used in the production of chemicals and chemicals. В большинстве случаев это обессоленная после обратного осмоса первой стадии или второй стадии (получение более очищенной воды с электропроводностью 10 мкСм).<

Demineralized water in the chemical industry is used as:

— solvent for preparation of solutions of any substances capable to be dissolved in water;

  • environments for the implementation of physical and mechanical processes (flotation, transportation of solid materials in the form of pulp, etc.);
  • adsorbent liquid for gases or other substances;
  • washing liquid for raw materials, materials, equipment, etc.;
  • extractant for liquids;
  • liquid for preparation of solutions of antifreezes, washers, etc.;
  • as a heat carrier or coolant for heating and cooling equipment
  • one of the constituent raw materials in the production of chemical products (for example, hydrogen, acetylene, sulfuric and nitric acids, etc.)

The use of water in chemical production is due to:

  • relatively high heat capacity and low viscosity;
  • low boiling point;
  • relatively low cost (extraction and purification costs);
  • mass use by mankind.
